A MESSAGE FROM SAN MATEO COUNTY DEMOCRATS

Dear Democrats,

Happy Labor Day weekend to all you Democrats! As the meme I see posted on social media goes, “If you have the day off to read this, thank a union.”

San Mateo County Democrats

San Mateo County Democrats

I continue to be proud of the deep and abiding relationship between the labor movement and the Democratic Party. We both serve as voices for the working class, using our people power and influence to shape our nation in to a just nation and an equitable nation, even in the face of the challenges presented to us by our current White House Administration.

Read on for more things you should know.

Early September Meeting!

Note that our body will be taking up the endorsements committee’s recommendations at our September general meeting, which will be held on the MODIFIED DATE of Thursday, September 5 at our regular location, the TWU Hall, 1521 Rollins Road, Burlingame at 7:30pm. We’ll also be conducting a final vote on bylaws recommendations, and considering pending resolutions. Social hour at 7pm, with the business meeting starting at 7:30pm. Please join us.

SMCDEMS Voter Registration Training!

Following the success of the first “sold out” August voter registration training, SMCDEMS’ dedicated voter registration team, led by April Vargas, Nancy Calibjo, Gina Brunton and Mark Klein, is pleased to be hosting another Voter Registration Training event on September 5 from 1-4 pm at the Redwood Shores Library, 339 Marine Parkway in Redwood City. Due to limited capacity, the team requests an RSVP to smcdemsvr@gmail.com

For those who are unable to join this session, the team can schedule other trainings at locations that are more convenient for you.  April Vargas, Mark Klein and Nancy Calibjo are available to organize and lead the trainings. If you have a group of friends, family or club members who are interested in doing Voter Registration, they come to your home, office or public conference area. E-mail smcdemsvr@gmail.com to find out about “roadshow trainings.”
